Growth could return to the European market for IT services in the next year, driven by IT outsourcing, experts have claimed.

Researchcarried out by industry analyst IDC suggested that the sector will facea tentative recovery throughout the rest of the current year, but willrecord a growth rate of 2.2 per cent in 2011.

Laura Converso, research manager for European software and services at the firm, saidthat demand for IT outsourcing and an increase in the number of IT projects being started will help to create expansion.

“Weexpect the ‘growth agenda’ to return slowly, bringing investments inbusiness intelligence and industry-specific solutions, as well as theglobal rollout/integration of applications,” she added.

Thereport also said the UK is one of the countries expected to see betterthan average growth, as the country tends to make greater use ofoutsourcing.

TechMarketView recently predicted that the UKsoftware market will soon start to recover from the recession and seehealthy growth rates between now and 2013.

Hi Folks,I do not think the UK and European IT market will grow in terms of Overall Value. Reasons are very obvious — Look at UK where governments want to do big cuts in govt spending. what is a outcome going to be is less money in the market in turn no money for IT. I think same is the case for Europe — I really think that what could happen in 2011 is reduction in the fall of IT spending and market should stablise in 2011-12. You can see growth 2013-15 not before this.
