IT Sourcing Europe, a UK-based market intelligence company specialized in the European IT Outsourcing market research, announces the launch of the 3d Annual European IT Outsourcing Research 2012.

This year’s survey aims to explore the current degree of penetration of IT Outsourcing (ITO) into diverse European markets, identify the main behavior patterns among the EU companies that outsource their IT / software development function(s) to third parties onshore (within UK), nearshore (up to 2 time zones away) and offshore (2+ time zones away) as well as key challenges facing the European outsourcers. Additionally, the forecasts for the future demand for ITO services / development of ITO industry within the European Union will be made based on the data collected from surveys of the companies that currently develop their IT solutions in-house.

The research will be conducted between March and October 2012. During this period companies from nine EU countries will be surveyed. Each country survey’s results will be compiled into respective country-specific ITO Intelligence Reports that will only be distributed among the survey participants. All countries’ research results will then be compiled into a comprehensive “Third Annual Pan-European IT Outsourcing Intelligence Report 2012” to provide the most up-to-date analytics and insights into the current and future state of the European ITO markets.

Target research participants are senior IT / C-Level executives from the European companies that either outsource or develop their technology solutions within own house.

In 2011, IT Sourcing Europe surveyed 4,652 European companies, which was a 40% increase from 2010. In 2012, the survey sample is expected to increase by at least 50% from last year’s figure due to a more extensive networking with the European Outsourcing and ICT / High-Tech organisations and communities.

The third annual row of surveys starts with the United Kingdom. The UK ITO versus In-House Software Development Survey 2012 is already live at

IT Sourcing Europe believes the 2012 Research findings will give significant value to both outsourcing companies and companies that consider different IT sourcing options to streamline their internal processes and bridge the gap between business and IT.

  1. It looks like it outsourcing is really increase last year, well i think this year they can reach also the 50% this 2012 good luck 🙂

  2. I’m not sure this year will have more or less outsourcing. The economic situation in Europe seems to indicate more contraction. This could on one hand lead to more outsourcing, due to fear of hiring formal employees due to strict labor laws, but on the other hand, if there is no money to be spent, then there is no money for anything. Also, I’m curious to see the different demand across countries and the types of outsourcing being done, such as development, bpo, software testing, etc…

  3. there’s no alternative to outsourcing of ict infrastructure!
